The Probe-1/4" is a safety-critical multi-function sensor for Star Fish SSMAX series automatic steam boilers. Threaded into the boiler with a brass fitting, it performs two vital roles: 1) It senses water level to control the automatic feed pump, and 2) It acts as a low-water safety cut-off, disabling the heaters if the water level falls below a safe minimum. A ceramic insulator separates the brass body from the internal electrode to ensure proper electrical function.
• Dual Safety & Control Function: Primarily decides pump operation based on water level and safely cuts power to heaters if water is too low, preventing element burnout and hazardous dry-firing.
• High-Temperature Brass Fitting: The 1/4" threaded body is made from brass for corrosion resistance and secure installation into the boiler.
• Critical Electrical Isolation: A ceramic insulator physically and electrically separates the brass body from the internal stainless steel sensing electrode, preventing shorts and ensuring accurate signal detection.
• Rugged Sensor Design: Built to operate reliably in water temperatures up to 120°C within the boiler environment.
• Single Connection Point: Features one wire connection to transmit the conductivity signal to the boiler's control board.
• Combined water level control and low-water safety cut-off in Star Fish SSMAX2, SSMAX 3, SSMAX 4, SSMAX 6, and SSMAX9 model boilers.
